Laois Begin U20 Leinster Football Championship With Defeat

Longford proved to strong for the O'Moore County.

Laois' U20 football championship campaign got off to a losing start at home to Longford last night.

The final score was 2-17 to 1-15 in O'Moore Park.

Team manager Kieran Kelly says they left themselves too much to do in the second half:

Elsewhere in Leinster, Meath were 5-19 to 2-9 winners over Carlow, Dublin beat Wexford 1-18 to 1-15, and Kildare beat Wicklow 3-16 to 0-9.

There's action in the Leinster Minor Football Championship this evening.

Westmeath take on Longford in their rescheduled meeting in Newtownforbes

While Skryne is the venue, as Louth take on Meath,

Both of those are billed for a 7:30 throw in.
