It's understood that Billy Sheehan will be recommended.
The Laois senior footballers could have a new manager in place as early as next Monday.
It's believed Billy Sheehan is going to be recommended as the replacement for Mike Quirke by the county's selection committee.
Sheehan has had coaching spells at inter-county level with Cork and Offaly as well as with Laois Ladies previously.
Mike Quirke left as manager in July after a couple of seasons at the helm.
No official ratification can take place until Monday October 18th at the next full county board meeting.
