Laois were in touch at half time, Kilkenny led by 2-16 to 1-14.
A similar second half saw Derek Lyng's side run out comfortable winners.
Laois started well, they managed to get a three point lead thanks to scores from Enda Rowland and PJ Scully.
Kilkenny got a handle on the game when the goals came in the first period, Laois got one through Ross King but Kilkenny got two through a Billy Drennan brace.
Gearoid Dunne added Kilkenny's third in the second half. By the time Stephen Bergin hit the back of the net, it was only a consolation for Laois.
