Donie Brennan's side were second best to the Orchard County as they surged to a 3-12 to 2-08 victory away in Portlaoise.
Katie Donoghue grabbed two second half goals for the O'Moore County however the gap was too big in the end to mount a late comeback.
Up next for the midland's side is a trip to face Mayo on Saturday July 1st with a win necessary to keep their season alive.
