New Laois Ladies Manager Seeking To Lift Toxicity And Negativity From County Scene

Former Portlaoise manager Stephen Duff is coming in as the county's new manager.

The Laois Ladies footballers are under new management after both Tommy Devereaux and Billy Kiernan stepped down from the roles.

The O'Moore County will have a familiar face on the touchline for the remainder of the season, with former Portlaoise ladies boss Stephen Duff taking over.

Duff enjoyed substantial success with Portlaoise, landing three county titles and three league titles in a four year spell.

It's been a difficult year for Laois, who were relegated from Division Two of the National Football League this year with just one draw and six losses.

The Ballyfin man acknowledges the negativity around the county set-up in recent times:

Duff joined Midlands 103's David Hollywood to give his thoughts on taking the management role, and to look towards the future of Laois ladies football:

The county board is thanking both Devereaux and Kiernan for their efforts over the course of the campaign.

Laois begin their Leinster Senior Championship campaign away to Meath on Sunday week.
