Despite not troubling the scoreboard for the majority of the first half Laois secured a comfortable win.
Laois maintained their perfect start to their latest campaign to escape Division Four of the National League with a win over Carlow on Saturday.
The O'Moore County looked in big trouble early on with Carlow racing in to a five point lead.
It took Justin McNulty's side 25 minutes to score their first point of the game.
Damon Larkin hit that first point, and followed up with a goal as Laois made their superiority count in a 2-14 to 0-9 win in Portlaosie.
McNulty says his side's first half performance wasn't good enough.
