A number of motions have been put forward in recent months.
Plans to reduce the number of senior teams in Laois continue to be pushed down the tracks.
The eventual aim for a couple of years is to get the top tier down to twelve teams from the current sixteen, but a number of circumstances have meant the process is cumbersome.
The latest plan to change the format of the competition was to replace the back door system with a round robin section. A points system would be developed that would account for the 2022 and 2023 season, with the top twelve teams following a two year period staying at senior level in 2024.
This was dismissed at the most recent discussion on the issue, after not receiving the required backing among the sixteen club representatives.
Further discussions will take place on potentially amending that system or creating a new, fairer proposal will take place at future sittings, but for now the status quo will remain in place.
