The Tipperary man has just finished a successful four year spell with Antrim.
Laois are set to name Darren Gleeson as the county's new senior hurling manager.
The recently departed Antrim boss is expected to be ratified at the next County Committee Meeting.
Gleeson led Antrim to two Joe McDonagh Cup victories and won and maintained their Division One status since 2020.
He'll succeed Willie Maher who stepped down from the role this summer.
Maher brought Laois back to Division One in his second and final season with the county, as well as guiding them to a Joe McDonagh Cup final.
