A lovely tribute was given to Conor Montague on social media.
The Laois Senior Football Championship Quarter-Final between Emo and Graiguecullen tomorrow has been postponed.
It follows the passing of Conor Montague earlier this week who played with Emo at all levels.
The club has posted on Facebook to pay tribute to him, saying:
Everyone at Emo GAA club would like to offer our deepest condolences to Mary ,Sean and Eoin Montague on the sad passing of Conor. Conor played with St. Paul's from under 10 right up to under 21 level and also played senior and junior with Emo, Conor was an accomplished wing back who always gave everything to his team .
He always showed great tenacity and courage when he wore the jersey. Conor's friends will always remember him as a hugely popular, larger than life character.
Having completed 2 years of his engineering degree in UCD he had just entered his third year.
He was a very talented young man who had been chosen to do an internship in France during the summer.
Conor's passing will leave a huge void in the lives of everyone who knew him and he will always be remembered.
A dheis Dé go raibh a Anam.
Laois GAA have confirmed that the Portarlington and Stradbally game will proceed as scheduled at 7pm.
