The reigning champions Clough Ballacolla were beaten by Rathdowney Errill by 1-20 to 1-15 in O'Moore Park.
It's back to back defeats for the champions after they were beaten by Camross in their previous round.
Victory for Rathdowney leaves them top of group B with three wins and a defeat, while Clough Ballacolla have now won two and lost two.
Elsewhere, Camross continued their good form as they had a comfortable 3-24 to 0-20 win over Ballinakill.
The Harps were 0-20 to 0-15 winners over Rosenallis, while Castletown defeated Portlaoise 2-18 to 2-16 as they now sit on three points.
