Their former boss Jack O'Connor is in the running to be Kerry's next manager.
Laois' Tom Cribbin is said to be close to taking the reigns of the Kildare senior footballers.
The former O'Moore County, Offaly and Westmeath boss has been coaching in their underage structures in recent seasons and also served as a selector to the outgoing Jack O'Connor.
It is also rumoured that former Galway and Sligo manager Kevin Walsh will be part of his ticket.
Cribbin made his first foray into management in 1999 taking over his home county. That lasted just the one season however and he left following a defeat in the Leinster Championship to Westmeath in 2000.
He would go on to manage Offaly between 2009 and 2011 and Westmeath for three seasons between 2014 and 2017.
He's also previously managed Edenderry and Clane to county titles in the early 2000's.
