Willie Maher's men started well and kept score for score with the Galway but ultimately fell to a 6-29 to 2-20 loss.
Stephen 'Picky' Maher and Aaron Dunphy were the goal-scorers for Laois, but the O'Moore County couldn't prevent Galway from racking up scores of their own.
Declan McLoughlin landed a hat-trick, with Jason Flynn and Alex Connaire also hitting goals.
Flynn joint top-scored in the contest with Laois' Picky Maher, both players registered 1-9.
Laois will next be in action against Down in league action in the first weekend of February.
