Kieran Lillis says he was inspired by the potential in the Laois panel, and the make up of last season's management team, to postpone hanging up his boots for one more season.
The O'Moore County enjoyed a signicantly more successful year than the one previous - winning the Division Four title, and reaching the Tailteann Cup final under Justin McNulty.
Lillis called time on 20 years playing inter-county football for Laois last month.
The Portlaosie man says he's really happy he stayed for one more campaign.
