Lowry Left Leaning On Luke For Ryder Cup Ticket

The Offaly man finished in a tie for 13th at the Tour Championships yesterday.

Tommy Fleetwood claimed his first PGA Tour victory at the 164th attempt last night after coming good to land the Tour Championship in Atlanta.

The Englishman finished on -18 to win by three shots, and also claim the $10m bonus for the Fed Ex Cup crown.

Fleetwood says he's thrilled to finally get over the line after a number of near misses.

Shane Lowry ended the week on ten-under-par, and will require a wildcard pick for this year's Ryder's Cup.

The Clara man only discovered last week the Tour Championship offers no points in the race to make Team Europe.

Rasmus Hojgaard's finish in a tie for 13th at the British Masters means Lowry has dropped out of the automatic top six places and is now relying on a pick from Captain Luke Donald.

Lowry failed to fire during his last round in Atlanta - mixing two birdies with a single bogey.

While Rory McIlroy finished on six-under after shooting a 70.
