Lowry Ready To Tackle Scottish Open As McIlroy Starts Fast

Rory McIlroy has made an ideal start to his tournament.

Shane Lowry will shortly be setting out on his first round at the Scottish Open.

The Clara man is taking in the links action in a bid to prepare for this year's Open Championship which tees off in Liverpool next week.

Rory McIlroy is the early joint-leader this morning after ripping in to the Rennaissance Club course, hitting five birdies in his first seven holes.

A bogey at the end of his first nine has dropped the Holywood golfer back to a share of the lead on four under par with Belgian, Thomas Detry.

Seamus Power is one-over through five, with Padraig Harrington, Lowry and Tom McKibbin all set to tee off later around lunchtime.
