Lowry Two Shots Off Early Lead at Memorial Tournament

All three Irishmen have enjoyed positive starts to the tournament.

Shane Lowry enjoyed a positive opening round at the Memorial Tournament on the PGA Tour last night.

The Clara man is on '-3' after the opening day, just two shots behind six players who have the early lead on '-5'

The rest of the Irish contingent also remain in contention, with Rory McIlroy on '-2' and Seamus Power on level-par.

Japan's Hideki Matsuyama was disqualified for marking a fairway wood with a white substance, which the PGA Tour felt infringed rules around club alignment.

Elsewhere, Leona Maguire is '-1' after the opening round at the US Women's Open in North Carolina. 

Stephanie Meadow is '+1', with Mina Harigae the leader on '-7'.
