Leitrim inflicted a first competitive defeat of the year on the O'Moore County on Saturday.
Laois' performance in their loss to Leitrim is being branded as embarrassing by the county's senior football manager.
Justin McNulty is making the comments after seeing his side go down by the smallest possible margin when a draw could have secured them promotion.
The final score in Portlaoise was 0-17 to 1-13.
Despite the closing stages of the contest being close, Laois could have been well beaten by Andy Moran's men, if Leitrim were more clinical.
McNulty tells Midlands 103's Pat O'Sullivan the performance simply wasn't good enough:
Laois can book their place in the Division Four final, and win promotion to Division Three with victory or a draw away to winless Waterford
