Mick McCarthy Sacked By APOEL Nicosia After Nine Games

They had lost their last four games in the Cypriot league.

Mick McCarthy has been sacked as manager of APOEL Nicosia in Cyprus.

He only got the job in November.

The former Republic of Ireland manager pays the price for a run of form which saw APOEL lose 4 matches in a row to lie 11th in the Cypriot table.

Jack Byrne came on as a sub last night to make his debut in a 2-1 defeat to Doxa.

Byrne has just signed a 2 and a half year deal after leaving Shamrock Rovers.
