The team competition has taken on European Championship status for the first time.
Two midlands athletes have been selected for the Irish National squad for the European Athletics Teams Championships in Poland.
Long Jumper Ruby Millet and Triple Jumper Saragh Buggy of St Abban's Athletic Club in Laois will compete in the competition that gets underway for Ireland on June 20th.
Millet and Buggy will be joined by 42 other Irish athletes including experienced major championship competitors like Thomas Barr, Sarah Lavin, Phil Healy and Israel Olatunde.
Team Ireland will be competing in Division Three against 14 other teams looking for promotion.
