Athlone will be targetting a first win in four games.

A midlands derby will take centre stage in the League of Ireland First Division this evening.

Athlone Town Stadium will play host to Longford and Athlone.

Both sides have been struggling for consistency with Athlone losing to the runaway league leaders Galway last time out and Longford picking up a point against second place Waterford.

Athlone Town will be hoping their danger man up front can stay fit and sharp this season.

Frantz Pierrot has already scored 13 league goals.

Elsewhere in the First Division, Galway can make it 5 wins in a row with victory at Bray Wanderers tonight.

Second plays 6th as Waterford come up against Treaty United while Wexford host Cobh Ramblers.

All those games kick off at 7:45pm while at 8pm, Kerry FC make the long trip to Finn Harps.

In the Premier Division, Derry City have the chance to extend their lead at the top of the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division tonight.

They take on Shelbourne at the Ryan McBride Brandywell from 7:45pm.

Should they slip up, Shamrock Rovers will go top if they beat Dundalk to Tallaght Stadium at the same time.

Bohemians can close the gap on the top two when they face Sligo Rovers at Dalymount Park,

Meanwhile, UCD travel to St Pats and Drogheda United play host to Cork City.
