Offaly and Laois were represented in Galway and Cork last night.
It was a mixed bag for Offaly's university footballers on the first night of the Sigerson Cup last night.
Ballinagar's Diarmuid Finneran started for Trinity University as they shocked University of Galway in Dangan in Galway.
Finneran had fellow Faithful County footballer Rory Egan opposing him.
Egan managed to register a point for Galway who couldn't avoid falling to a surprise 2-8 to 1-10 loss to the Dublin side.
Elsewhere, Emo's Sean Greene was part of a Maynooth University side who were 4-11 to 2-9 winners over MTU Cork.
While Queens University Belfast were one point winners over DCU on a final scoreline of 1-10 to 2-6.
