Cormac Dalton claimed national honours in Kilkenny this year.
An individual top ten, and a potential team medal could be on the horizon for a midlands athlete running for ireland at the European Cross Country Championships this weekend.
Mullingar Harriers runner Cormac Dalton won gold in this year's National Championships in Kilkenny, last month.
Dalton is joined by Irish record holder over 5,000 metres Brian Fay (Raheny Shamrocks), as well as Keelan Kilrehill (Moy Valley AC), Hugh Armstrong (Ballina AC), Kevin Mulcaire (Ennis Track Club), and Fearghal Curtin (Youghal AC).
Tullamore Harriers coach, Damian Lawlor says the men's team could bring home a medal:
The men's senior contest gets underway in Brussels at 2.15pm
Looking at women's senior race, Lawlor says on another day, the midlands could have had more than just Portlaoise AC's Marie Mulhare:
