Reigning champions UL secured a big win at home to Maynooth University, with Offaly forward Adam Screeney scoring 0-3 for the winners.
Offaly's Dara Maher and Westmeath's Eamon Cunneen and Darragh McCormack featured for Maynooth, while Laois' Jarlath Connolly was part of the panel.
Elsewhere, Cathal King played the full for 60 minutes for SETU Waterford in their defeat to Mary I, as Jamie Wall's side came away with a 4-22 to 2-16 victory.
Tonight, UCC take on MTU Cork, while NUIG welcome UCD to Galway, with both games throwing in at 7:30pm.
