It comes after a winless campaign in 2021.
Mike Quirke has announced his decision to step away from his role as Laois Senior Football manager.
In a statement released by Laois GAA, the Kerryman says he made the decision to give the county board ample time to find his successor.
The O'Moore County have endured a difficult 2021 with four successive defeats in the league culminating with Sunday's collapse against Westmeath in the Leinster Championship.
The incoming manager will have a difficult job on his hands as a period of transition lies ahead and a number of question marks hang over the continuation of a handful of senior players.
