There were mixed fortunes for Laois and Offaly as the All-Ireland Ladies Football Intermediate Championship got underway yesterday.
Laois had an easy win away to Sligo in Group D by 6-23 to 0-8.
Offaly were beaten by two points by Wexford in Group A, despite an impressive comeback in the second half.
Trailing 1-7 to no-score in Enniscorthy at half-time, Offaly surged in the second half to lead by three points at one stage.
However, Wexford finished with 1-2 to win 2-12 to 3-7.
