Play Suspended As Shane Lowry Struggles In Abu Dhabi

The Clara man will play his remaining seven holes in the morning.

Play has been suspended on day one of the HSBC Championship in Abu Dhabi. 

A triple bogey seven on the 9th hole along with another bogey on 11 left Shane Lowry on four over par when the players were called in for the day. 

Play will resume tomorrow morning. 

That lead is being held by Rory McIlroy.

The County Down man has completed his first round, signing for an 8 under par 64. 

That gives him a one shot advantage over the chasing pack.

McIlroy was pleased with his putting today.
