NFL: Westmeath Rally Late To See Off Sligo

Mark McHugh's side claimed the opening two points of the campaign.

Westmeath secured their first victory of the season in Division Three of the National Football League.

Shane Corcoran kicked a late point to claim a 2-14 to 1-16 win at home to Sligo to earn the Lake County their first two points of the season.

Jonathan Lynam impressed with two first half goals, while Luke Loughlin kicked 0-5 and Danny McCartan finished with 0-3.

Attention now turns to the clash away to Clare this weekend.
