The Offaly Senior Hurling Championship won't be restructured in the next two years.
There'd been a will from the executive to trim the number of teams from 10 to 8, but that proposal was rejected out of hand by the majority of teams who would be deemed as candidates for relegation.
The proposal would have seen the Senior 'B' Championship increase from 6 to 8 sides, with a view to increasing the standard and competitiveness of games.
The criss-cross element of the group phase HAS been ditched though.
Teams will only play other sides in their own section in 2022 with the top team qualifying directly for the semi-finals. Second and Third place will meet at the quarter-final stage.
