No Room For Peter Dooley In Ireland Squad For First Test Against Japan

Ireland outhalf Joey Carbery will win his first international cap since 2019 this Saturday.

Carbery has been selected with Jamison Gibson-Park in the Irish half-back line to face Japan at the Aviva Stadium.

Stuart McCloskey and Chris Farrell are paired in midfield while Jacob Stockdale and Jordan Larmour are on the wings and Hugo Keenan is at fullback.

Coombes is the only uncapped player included in the 23-man matchday squad.

James Ryan is fit and will captain the side in the second row alongside Ultan Dillane.

Peter O’Mahony, Josh van der Flier and Caelan Doris are in the back row with Dave Kilcoyne, Ronan Kelleher and Finlay Bealham leading the pack.

Munster number 8 Gavin Coombes is in line to make his international debut for Ireland against Japan.
