Obafemi Turns Down Spot On Ireland U-21 Team In Hope For Senior Call Up

Michael Obafemi has turned down a place in the Republic of Ireland under-21 squad in the hope of receiving a senior call-up. 

The Swansea City striker played at senior level for Ireland in 2018 during Martin O'Neill's spell as manager. 

Under-21 boss Jim Crawford says Obafemi is focused on being drafted into the senior set-up.

Manager Stephen Kenny is due to name his squad for the upcoming games against Belgium and Lithuania later this week.
