Offaly And Westmeath Advance In O'Byrne Cup

Laois lost out to Dublin in the first round.

O'Byrne Cup gives players competitive games. 

That's the thoughts of Offaly Joint Manager Declan Kelly, as his side secured their first win of the year over Carlow on Saturday. 

The Faithful side came through the encounter with a 3-14 to 3-9 win away from home. 

Rory Egan finished the game with 1-4. 

They will now face Meath in the next round this Wednesday.

Elsewhere, Dublin held out to secure a 4-14 to 1-17 win away to Laois, with Longford and Westmeath's clash cancelled and decided with a coin toss. 

Westmeath will now take on Louth in the quarter finals.
