Offaly Athlete Wins Bronze At European Youth Olympic Festival

Edenderry's Cian Crampton finished third in the boy's discus throw.

An Offaly athlete has secured bronze at the European Youth Olympic Festival.

Cian Crampton from Edenderry threw a personal best of 59.32m in the boy's discus on Saturday in Maribor, Slovenia. 

He received automatic qualification for the final after throwing another personal best of 58.32 on Thursday, which placed him in second place from the opening round of six throws. 

Despite his final throw being disqualified, Crampton had done enough to claim his bronze medal, with Samuel Conjungo-Taumhas taking home gold.
