The Faithful County fell by just two points in the All-Ireland Intermediate Championship.
A hard fought comeback wasn't enough for Offaly to get the best of Galway in the All-Ireland Intermediate Championship.
The Faithful County trailed by nine points at one stage in the second half, before reducing that deficit to just a point.
However, Galway saw the game out and won by a two-point margin.
The final scoreline in Banagher was 3-12 to 1-16.
That result means Offaly will meet Westmeath in the final group game of the championship this weekend with the winner set to progress to a quarter final.
