Westmeath will go into a preliminary quarter final.

Offaly secured their place in the quarter finals of the Leinster Minor Football Championship.

Adrian Farrell's side defeated neighbours Westmeath in Kinnegad last night on a final scoreline of 3-12 to 1-10.

Two first half goals from John Carroll and Paddy Burns, was followed up by Sean Monahan's strike in the second half as the Faithful set up a quarter final meeting against the winners of Meath and Wicklow.

Westmeath will face Carlow in a preliminary quarter final, with the winners of that set to take on Kildare in the next round.
