From tragedy to progress, Offaly football went through the wringer in 2023.
The year will always be remembered in Offaly for one thing, and that was the sudden and tragic passing of Liam Kearns.
Kearns made an instant impact in the Faithful County and had settled in to his new role well.
On Sunday, March 12th, Kearns passing shocked the GAA world and left the Offaly footballers in the midst of a national league campaign bereaved and without a manager.
Martin Murphy stepped in to the role to lead the Faithful County through the league to a Leinster Championship semi-final that took in a dramatic victory over Meath at O'Connor Park.
Their season would end on a downbeat with a meek exit from the Tailteann Cup at the hands of Wexford in Tullamore.
At club level Durrow impressed while Rhode and Edenderry played out a contest for the ages.
Tullamore however were crowned county champions again.
