Offaly GAA Award Winners Announced

Charlie Mitchell and Cathal Flynn have had stellar seasons for both club and county.

Brendan Lowry has been inducted into the Offaly GAA Hall of Fame.

The father of the county's greatest golfer Shane, starred for both Ferbane and Offaly in football the 1980s.

He was part of the famous Faithful team that stopped Kerry's five in a row attempt in 1982.

Birr's Paddy Kirwan goes into the hurling Hall of Fame.

He was part of the 1981 team to secure the county's first All Ireland hurling title.

Meanwhile, the winners of hurler and footballer of the year in Offaly have been announced. 

Ferbane's Cathal Flynn is the Footballer of the Year following an impressive season with both club and county, which saw him secure a Division 3 league success with the county. 

Kilcormac Killoughey forward Charlie Mitchell has been recognised as the Hurler of the Year for the second year in a row. 

Meanwhile, Birr's Sarah Harding is the winner of the Camogie Player of the Year, as she ended the season with a hat trick in their county final win over Shinrone.

Football Hall of Fame – Brendan Lowry, (Ferbane)

Hurling Hall of Fame – Paddy Kirwan, (Ballyskenach and Birr)
