The Jack Wyer Memorial Pitch will be formally opened and celebrated this weekend.
The culmination of over a decade's worth of work is set to celebrated in Offaly this weekend.
The official opening of the Jack Wyer Memorial Pitch at Ballinamere GAA is taking place on Saturday.
New facilities include the pitch, a gym, and a fully-lit walking track.
Ballinamere/Durrow's under 14 camogie side will be the first to grace the pitch competitively on the day, they take on St Cillian's in an under 14s final.
With the girls being followed by the Ballinamere senior hurlers taking on Turloughmore.
The pitch is named after 11 year old Jack Wyer, who lost his life in April 2014, after being struck by a car close to his home in the parish.
Club Secretary Carina Carroll says it's a fitting tribute:
The event begins at 4pm on Saturday.
Carina's full interview will be broadcast on Midlands 103 on Health & Fitness with David Hollywood from 7pm on Friday evening.
