Offaly Qualify For First Ever Joe McDonagh Cup Final

Johnny Kelly's side were comfortable winners over Kerry.

Offaly have qualified for their first ever Joe McDonagh Cup final.

Johnny Kelly's side were ultimately comfortable winners over Kerry after a physical contest in Tullamore yesterday.

Their 1-24 to 0-16 victory means Laois are still in the running to make the decider at the end of the month as well.

Speaking to Midlands 103 commentator Joe Troy, Faithful County manager Kelly is crediting the work rate of his side in the win:

Laois registered their second win of their Joe McDonagh campaign against Kildare in Portlaoise on Saturday.

The final score in Laois Hire O'Moore Park was 1-23 to 0-11.

In the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship Westmeath were soundly beaten Galway.

Last year's provincial finalists rattled 6 goals and slotted 33 points in a game that Joe Fortune's men could only find 17 points to reply with.
