Tullamore began with a 3-11 to 1-13 win over Ferbane in group 2.
Three first half goals from Jay Sheerin and two from Dan Fox was enough for Niall Stack's side to secure their opening two points.
Kevin Nugent scored Ferbane's only goal through a penalty.
And finally, Shamrocks and Bracknagh played out an entertaining draw in Walsh Island, 2-09 to 1-12.
Nigel Dunne was the star man for Shamrocks as he kicked 1-08, while fellow inter-county player Peter Cunningham bagged an impressive 1-06 for Bracknagh.
