Alex Dunne fought back from the back end of the top 20 to score points in Saturday's F3 feature race.
Offaly's Alex Dunne has claimed his first points in the FIA Formula Three World Championship after the first round in Bahrain.
The MP Motorsport endured a difficult start to his feature race on Sunday, dropping from 14th to 18th on the opening lap.
However Dunne's race pace was strong, and he managed to fight his way back up to finish ninth and claim two world championship points.
The Clonbullogue teenager is back in action for the second round in Melbourne in just under three weeks.
