The Faithful County endured the shock passing of their manager Liam Kearns in March.
Despite the trauma of the loss, Offaly managed to perform in the Leinster Championship, making a provincial semi-final for the first time since 2007.
Mickey Harte's Louth beat Martin Murphy's charges in extra time in Croke Park, and Offaly's Tailteann Cup campaign was a disappointment that ended with their worst performance of the season.
Brian Gavin believes the county's new manager will have to pick and choose his targets next year.
