The Rosenallis clubman is the third highest appearance holder in Laois football history.
John O'Loughlin, who made 167 Senior appearances for Laois, has announced his retirement from the intercounty game.
The Rosenallis clubman has informed players and management of his decision after their exit from the Tailteann Cup against Westmeath on Sunday.
O'Loughlin played hurling and football at Under 21 level for Laois for multiple seasons, while going on to spend 15 years on the Senior panel.
The 167 appearances he made for Laois puts him third in the overall list behind Ross Munnelly and Michael Lawlor.
