Panthers Promotion Hopes Dashed On Final Weekend

Jack Scully's side were seven point winners on Saturday.

The Portlaoise Panthers men's season came to a heartbreaking end in the national league last weekend.

Despite winning their final outing against Moycullen, the Panthers missed out on the promotion play-offs after results in other games went against them.

Titans' victory over Tipp Talons, and Moy Tolka Rovers' win against Templeogue meant the Laois club's 80-73 victory in St Mary's Hall failed to get them over the line.

The Panthers were on a strong winning streak at the start of the campaign before injuries upset their momentum.

Amiri Darrell Stewart top scored for Portlaoise with 22 points.
