Laois' hurlers suffered a second defeat in succession on Saturday.
Laois' hurlers continued their transition to a shorter style of hurling in coming up short against Dublin.
Donal Burke shot 0-18 by himself for the capital as they escaped O'Moore Park with a win.
The result leaves Laois needing a win against fellow strugglers Clare or else Antrim to avoid a relegation playoff with most likely their midlands rivals Westmeath.

It was an improved display from that which took place in Wexford Park seven days previously with a clear style of play emerging.
Cha Dwyer grabbed the goal to bring Laois within four in the second half but that was as close as they were able to get.
