Portlaoise are looking to win the senior county title in Laois for the first time since 2019.
Portlaoise managed to overcome both the elements and O'Dempsey's to fight their way through to yet another county final in Laois.
The 35 times champions were in the lead for the majority of Sunday's contest, and looked in control at the break when leading by double scores, 1-7 to five points.
O'Dempsey's persisted in difficult playing conditions and had the gap down to three points midway through the second half when Paul Cahillane popped up for a point, and immediately after that, his second goal of the game to give Portlaoise the breathing space they needed.
The final score was 2-12 to 1-11.
Portlaoise manager Aidan Fennelly says he's happy with how his side navigated a difficult day out:
The county final, between Portlaoise and Portarlington who overcame Graiguecullen in the championship's other semi-final, will take place on Sunday, October 13th.
