There was a big hat-tip to the standard of basketball in Laois last night.
No fewer than 6 winners came from the O'Moore county at Basketball Ireland's annual awards.
Players, coaches, clubs and schools in Laois were among those honoured.
Ciara Byrne was one of the big overall winners on the night.
The Portlaoise Panthers and Scoil Christ Ri pupil scooped both the U19 PPSC Player of the year and Women's Division One young player of the year awards.
Another Panther received individual honours in the form of Gillian Wheeler who picked up the U18 Female player of the year.
Jack Dooley was named Women's underage coach of the year for his work at various age groups in Portlaoise.
Scoil Christ Ri, Portlaoise was named Girls A school of the year following their league and cup double at U19 level.
While Portlaoise Panthers themselves received the National Area Board Committee Club of the year gong, for their contributions to the growth of the sport in the region.
