Pride At Stake For Westmeath In Joe McDonagh Cup Derby

They are unable to advance after two defeats.

Westmeath travel to Páirc Tailteann to face Meath on Saturday for a dead rubber group game in the Joe McDonagh Cup.

Two defeats in their opening fixtures against Antrim and Kerry leave the Lake County playing for pride in their last two outings.

Manager Shane O'Brien will be hoping for a reversal of form but will be without the services of the influential Niall O'Brien for this local derby.

Gerry Buckley of the Westmeath Examiner says an improved showing is key to restore confidence in the panel:

It's a 1pm start in Navan tomorrow.
