The race started at O'Moore Park in Portlaoise at 11.05, taking the riders over ‘The Cut’ in the Slieve Bloom Mountains and will finish in Mountrath.
After stage two, Offaly's Ellen McDermott, riding in support of Charlotte Hodgkins-Byrne and Mary Wilkinson of Team Boompods, is 54th on general classification, just over 5 minutes off the lead.
Linda Kelly finished as the best Irish rider in 7th, as South Africa's Tiffany Keep took home first spot ahead of her fellow 92 cyclists that competed yesterday, while Rixt Hoogland wears the leader's magenta jersey.
