Shamrock Rovers, Pats And Sligo Discover Potential European Opponents

League of Ireland sides will have onerous tasks on their hands if they win out in their current rounds.

Shamrock Rovers know what awaits them in Europe, regardless of their results against Shkupi over the next week. 

Should they beat the North Macedonian champions, the Hoops will play either Qarabag or Ferencvaros in the playoff round of the Europa League. 

Lose, and they’ll play either Ballkani from Kosovo or Iceland’s K-I in the Conference League playoffs. 


Should St. Pat’s beat CSKA Sofia in the third qualifying round of the Conference League, they’ll play one of Basel or Brondby.

And the potential reward for Sligo Rovers fending off Viking is a tie with either Dunajska, Streda or Romania’s FCSB. 

Meanwhile last year’s beaten finalists Bohemians have been drawn away to Lucan United in the second round of the FAI Cup. 

Shamrock Rovers face a tricky trip to Drogheda United. 

Dundalk will also be on the road - travelling to Wexford. 

While Derry City will welcome Cork City to the Brandywell.
