It was a disappointing week on the west coast for him.
Shane Lowry is travelling back to Ireland today ahead of a busy few weeks this side of the pond.
He plays the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open at Mount Juliet the first weekend in July before defending his Open Championship title at Royal St.George's a fortnight later.
It was a difficult week for the Clara man in San Diego, with the putter stone cold and the driver struggling to leave him in the short stuff off the tee, it was never a recipe for success.
Speaking afterwards though, Lowry remained positive:
“First and foremost, I’m looking forward to getting back to Ireland tomorrow,”
“I haven’t been back since Christmas, and then the Irish Open is the following week, and we go to Royal St George’s to defend The Open, so that’s going to be pretty cool.
“It’s really cool the R&A have announced there’s going to be 32,000 people a day there, which is great.
“We will have full grandstands and the real Open atmosphere, that’s going to be nice. I am obviously excited about that.”
